Chrome is not safe ⚠️
Google Chrome is not safe :
Google Chrome, the world's most popular web browser, has been ranked as the most vulnerable web browser in a survey by Atlas VPN that released on Wednesday. The VPN service provider, a part of Nord security, has estimated 303 vulnerabilities reported in this year, while a total of 3,159 cumulative vulnerabilities to date have been discovered in the popular web browser. The figures are based on the information from the VulDB vulnerability database. The report summarises vulnerabilities reported in the database between January 1, 2022 to October 5, 2022. However, the research does not reveal the severity of vulnerabilities; instead, it concentrated on the total number of vulnerabilities (including those with patches).
With 117 vulnerabilities, Mozilla’s Firefox browser is place on the second place.
As of October 5, Microsoft Edge was said to have 103 vulnerabilities, which is 61% higher than the previous year. Since its release, it has had 806 vulnerabilities in total, the report states.
When compared to other browsers, fewer vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple's Safari browser than its rivals. According to the research, it experienced 26 vulnerabilities in the first three quarters of 2022 and 1,139 vulnerabilities overall since its debut. With over 1 billion users lately, Safari is now the second-most widely used browser worldwide after Google Chrome.Remarkably, there have only been 344 vulnerabilities reported for the Opera browser so far in 2022.
The survey noted Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera are all based on the Chromium engine, which implies that all of these browsers may be affected by Chromium vulnerabilities.
Recently, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has issued an advisory with a high severity rating against multiple vulnerabilities reported in the Google Chrome desktop browser. The agency has warned users of remote hackers getting access to the system and executing malicious operations.
Jio Glass :
First unveiled at Reliance’s annual general meeting (AGM), 2022, Jio Glass is the company’s first smart glass. It is aimed at enhancing the virtual space by making it more interactive using 3D avatars, holographic content and even normal video conferencing features. Weighing 75 grams, Jio Glass uses 3D avatars to make interactions better in the virtual world. It comes with personalized audio and allows designed discussions by sharing 3D holograms.
Applications of Jio Glass vary across industries and sectors including e-learning, media and entertainment, gaming and even shopping. The device can be connected to a smartphone to experience the virtual world.5G services will increase energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency. 5G technology will help in connecting billions of Internet of Things devices, will allow higher quality video services with mobility at high speed, and delivery of critical services. 5G will help in real-time monitoring of disasters, precision agriculture, and minimizing the role of humans in dangerous industrial operations such as in deep mines, offshore activities etc. In the first phase, 5G services will be available in 4 cities- Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai. These cities will get 5G services by Diwali festival which will be held between 22-26 October. However, these cities will also face redundancy in the way that only parts of the city will receive the services.
Jio vs Airtel 5G:
Both Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have launched their 5G networks. If you want to experience them, you need to have a SIM that is purchased in one of the cities that the telcos have launched 5G in. Jio has launched 5G in four cities, while Airtel has launched it in eight cities. The 5G networks of both operators are available in Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Kolkata. These cities are already giving users an experience of what 5G is. But the rollout is very limited, and thus only select areas of the city are covered with 5G. Ookla has published the data of median download speeds delivered by both operators since June 2022 on their test networks.
Jio vs Airtel 5G Median Download Speed in Delhi:
Jio – 598.58 Mbps
Airtel – 197.98 Mbps
Jio vs Airtel 5G Median Download Speed in Mumbai:
Jio – 515.38 Mbps
Airtel – 271.07 Mbps
Jio vs Airtel 5G Median Download Speed in Kolkata:
Jio – 482.02 Mbps
Airtel – 33.83 Mbps
Jio vs Airtel 5G Median Download Speed in Varanasi:
Jio – 485.22 Mbps
Airtel – 516.57 Mbps
Note that the data here comes from the test networks and thus the speeds aren’t from stable networks. As the commercial availability of 5G expands and the telcos recaliberate their networks for better performance, the data could look entirely different. Vodafone Idea is not in this list because the telco hasn’t launched 5G but is confident about launching it in the near future. Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are both using 3.5 GHz band spectrum to deliver 5G to users in different parts of the nation currently.
